A long-term project of revitalizing the city of Bruntál with DREISEITLconsulting: “BRIDGING THE GAP”. The project includes collaboration with the University of Nürtingen and the Czech Technical University of Prague and support from the Harvard LOEB fellowship.

My involvement in this project includes urban analyses, SWOT, Evaluations and documentation of locations, Public questionnaires, Translation and presentation, Assistant Internship at DREISEITLconsulting, and Public workshop for the citizens of Bruntál.

The project began as a university collaboration initiative to create a 2070 master plan for the city of Bruntál with the help of Herbert Dreiseitl. DREISEITLconsulting studio, among other things, transforms spaces into sustainable and livable neighborhoods through participative planning and resident involvement. Throughout 2022, Herbert Dreiseitl and his team held meetings with the representatives of Bruntál about the best way to implement such planning.

Under the guidance of the studio, I managed, evaluated, translated, and presented three public 50-question surveys with over 700 respondents that researched the opinions of residents on various topics relevant to the participative planning process.

In the summer of 2022, I spent a week on location together with university students to research and create urban analyses necessary for the evaluation of the spaces. I photo-documented all areas of the city and wrote analyses detailing their strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities. All students collaborated with Bettina Dreiseitl on finalizing the global city SWOT analysis.

During my internship at DREISEITLconsulting in September 2022, we combined all of the information about the state of the city and the opinions of residents we gathered during the previous months to plan a public participatory workshop for all citizens of Bruntál that would allow them to voice their concerns and see a possible vision for the city.

The workshop took place from the 15. to the 17.9.2022. The event included one full-day workshop for politically engaged citizens, one full-day public workshop, and presentations on H. Dreiseitl’s work, the current situation of Bruntál, and our analyses and visions in the city. I translated, presented, and moderated the workshop while working with the team to guide all participants.

This collaboration is ongoing and gradually developing concrete visions and plans for transformation.
